Grab & Go Kids Planner: Gingerbread, Scrap Booking and Skating

Fun weekend events for the kids.

1.
Where/When: Cranberry Lake Preserve, 1609 Old Orchard St., West Harrison, Saturday, Nov. 26, 1 p.m.
Why Go: Walk off the Thanksgiving desserts with your kids on a hike at Cranberry Lake Preserve.
Pricing: Free.

Where/When: New York Botanical Garden, 2900 Southern Blvd., Bronx, Saturday, Nov. 26, Sunday, Nov. 27, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
Why Go: In the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden you and your family can learn about the spices that comprise gingerbread. The garden will be decorated with holiday vignettes made of gingerbread. There will also be themed activities including planting wheat seeds, learning to grind spices and viewings of gingerbread houses created by bakers from New York City. And after all that you and the little ones can play in a child-sized gingerbread playhouse.
Pricing:
Adults, $20; students and seniors, $18; ages 2-12, $8; ages under 2, free; members free.

Where/When: New York Botanical Garden, 2900 Southern Blvd., Bronx, Saturday, Nov. 26, Sunday, Nov. 27, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
Why Go: Celebrate the Annual Holiday Train Show with exhibits that display trains, bridges, and replicas of New York landmarks.
Pricing: Adults, $20; students and seniors, $18; ages 2-12, $8; ages under 2, free; members, free.

Why Go: Family Skate Day gives you and your kids a chance to enjoy some time being active together.
Pricing: Adults, $9; children 12 and under, $6; discounts for County Park pass holders.
