ESTHER'S AID/NEW ROCHELLE HS 5K COMMUNITY RUN/WALK
Esther's Aid will be having our first annual run/walk fundraiser in collaboration with New Rochelle HS Saturday, May 18, 2013 at New Rochelle High School from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm to support education and training for orphans and survivors of the genocide in Rwanda . The day will be filled with live music, craft sales, and prizes for top fundraisers.
Esther’s Aid was founded in 1999 by New Rochelle resident, Clare Effiong, who was stunned by the devastation and incredible suffering endured by small children living in a dump site struggling to survive. Esther's Aid's programs are transforming the lives of the poorest of the poor, enabling them to become self- supporting entrepreneurs in the culinary arts, hospitality, sewing, knitting, mushroom farming, and other endeavors. We also focus on at risk girls, rescuing them from prostitution and child trafficking on the streets of Kigali, feeding, clothing, nurturing, and teaching them alternative skills to survive. Esther's Aid's programs work! We provide a hand up not a hand-out!
Invite family and friends to walk, run, or be your sponsor! 9am: Registration 10am:Run/Walk begins
Updates will be posted on Esther’s Aid’s Facebk page* (look for the yellow logo)
