Joseph is a lifelong resident of Rockland County.
Since the age of 15, Joseph has been involved in diverse nonprofit, government and community organizations both within Rockland and New York State.  In 2003, the Rockland County Youth Bureau awarded him the Joseph A. Myers Service to Youth Award and in 2011 he was named one of Rockland`s 40 under 40 by the Rockland Economic Development Corporation. Joseph holds a BA with Honors from the University at Albany in English and Women's Studies and will finish his Masters Degree in Public Administration at Marist College this December.  He currently works as a community organzier and liaision at a nonprofit and serves as the Co-President of Rockland County Young Democrats, Executive Vice President of the New York State Young Democrats, Vice Chair of Young Democrats of America LGBTQ, and is a member of the National Council of the National Organization for Men Against Sexism.  His life work is summed up by Audre Lorde: “There is no such thing as a single-issue struggle because we do not live single-issue lives.”
