The New Rochelle Board of Education is a group of elected officials which oversees curricula, educational programs,More faculty and budgeting for the New Rochelle school district, a district of over 10,000 students. The Board is responsible for hiring, evaluating, firing and giving tenure to New Rochelle teachers. The Board of Education also attempts to reconcile the interests of the school district and the community, particularly around the budget vote, which takes place in late May each year.</p> <p>Current New Rochelle Board of Ed members: </p> <p>Sara Richmond (President), Chrisanne Petrone (Vice President), Jeffrey Hastie, David Lacher, Lianne Merchant, Valerie Orellana, Deirdre Polow, Mary Jane Reddington, Quay Watkins. The Superintendent of Schools is Richard Organisciak. Meetings are open to the public.</p> <p>The Board of Ed offices are located on the second floor of the City Hall Building. The City Hall Building is fully handicapped accessible, with ramps, elevators and automatic doors. Please see the security guard to sign in and obtain ID before going to the second floor offices. </p>
