Photo Exhibit, Playland and Phish

Here are a few of the things going on this weekend in and around New Rochelle.

1. Summer might be winding down, but fresh produce and other goodies are still available from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Down to Earth Farmers Market in New Rochelle (North Avenue in front of the high school) and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the New Rochelle Grand Market on Library Green, Lawton and Huguenot streets.

2. Playland’s last day of the season is Monday Sept. 2 so this weekend is your last chance to enjoy the rides there. They are offering $15 night specials with fireworks. The fireworks finale is Friday, Aug. 30 at 9:15 p.m. Read more at ryeplayland.org.

3. Phish will be streamed live from Colorado at Garcia’s at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, 149 Westchester Ave., Friday and Saturday at 9 p.m. It's phor Phish phans and it's phree (It's for Phish fans and it's free).

4. Have you seen the new Marine Education Center in at Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck yet?  If not, come on down this Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon to check out spider crabs, shells, horseshoe crabs and more. It's open every Saturday, or whenever the flags are flying.

5. Saturday is the last day to see Sensitometry: A Photo Graphic Exploration at the Media Loft Gallery 50 Webster Ave. in New Rochelle. Seven established photographers present their individual photographic explorations giving the audience the full experience of their process. The exhibit features the works of Martin Kruck, Fred Levine, Christopher Lovi, Alan Model, Marc Weinstein, Suzanne Revy and Dale Zheutlin. For more information, go here.
