Jailbreak, Fresh Produce and Marine Exhibits

Here are a few things to do this weekend in and around New Rochelle.

1. Is jailbreaking iOS devices something you are interested in? At JailBreakCon at the Radisson Hotel New Rochelle Friday and Saturday, you can learn to develop jailbroken iOS devices and attend a workshop on ways for non-developers to contribute to the jailbreaking community, including support testing and bug reporting. 2. Summer might be winding down, but fresh produce and other goodies are still available from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Down to Earth Farmers Market in New Rochelle (North Avenue in front of the high school) and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the New Rochelle Grand Market on Library Green, Lawton and Huguenot streets.

3. Artizfacts Studio Gallery will serve as a platform to showcase live entertainment and host exhibits for new emerging artist and performers. The first opening event will feature The Tim Reyes Quartet, at 6 p.m. Saturday, August 24th, 2013. Tim Reyes studied with jazz masters Pat Martino, John Scofield and Pat Metheny, and has played with various local artists such as NY jazz Saxist Tyrone Birkett. Artizfacts Studio Gallery is located at 81 Centre Ave., Suite 203, New Rochelle. 4. Have you seen the new Marine Education Center in at Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck yet?  If not, come on down this Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon to check out spider crabs, shells, horseshoe crabs and more. It's open every Saturday, or whenever the flags are flying.

5. Modern Myths hosts an afternoon of games for all ages Sunday at 1 p.m. with an emphasis on kid-friendly board-, card- and role-playing games! Borrow a game from our huge library of open games or bring your own favorite game to play. Hosts will be on hand to teach new games and offer help and suggestions. All ages are welcome, and it's just one Day Pass per family. A Day Pass for store events is $5 and comes with a $5 gift voucher you can use in the store. Please call 914-630-4246 for more information.
