Elm Road Work, Rosh Hashanah and 'Wedding Singer'

Here are a few things you need to know for the week ahead in and around New Rochelle.

1. Con Edison work on Elm Street between Drake and Neptune avenues is ongoing. Be prepared for road closings.

2. School back in session. There will be a Superintendent's Conference Day for the staff only Tuesday, Sept. 3. On Wednesday, Sept 4., elementary students, including kindergarten, report for a half day. Grades six through eight will be in session the entire day. Ninth graders only report to New Rochelle High School for the day.

3. Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year, begins the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 4.
