County Fair, Folk Music and Drama Workshops

Here are a few of the things in and around New Rochelle for the week of August 19, 2013.

1. The Emil Paolucci Summer Sounds Concert Series continues at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hudson Park Band Shell with Caroline Doctorow and The Steamrollers, playing folk and roots music.

2. Registration continues for the Westchester Sandbox Theatre Summer Drama workshops, taking place August 27-29 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The fee is $150 for the three workshops. Call 914-630-0804 or visit www.wstshows.com.

3. The National Weather Service has a rain-free forecast in store for the week. Monday, August 19 calls for increasing clouds with a high near 85. Tuesday will be mostly sunny, with a high hear 86. No precipitation is in the forecast through Saturday.

4. Want to go to a county fair? How about the Dutchess County Fair in Rhinebeck? The annual tradition features farm animals, carnival rides, exhibits and fair food. It begins Tuesday, August 20 and continues through Sunday, August 25. For more information, including Metro-North travel deals, visit dutchessfair.com.
