New Rochelle's Paul Warhit Elected President of Westchester Jewish Council

Warhit succeeds Ronald Burton, also of New Rochelle, as President of the Council's Board of Directors


The Westchester Jewish Council recently elected New Rochelle's Paul B. Warhit as  president of the Board of Directors.  Warhit was installed at the the group's annual meeting, along with other new board members.

Warhit succeeds Ronald E. Burton, also of New Rochelle, who served as president for the last four years.           

Eleven new members were added to the organization’s Board of Directors including Liat Altman of Scarsdale, Peter Baum of White Plains, Millie Jasper of Croton, Gary Katz of Scarsdale, Harry Mamaysky of Scarsdale, David Miller of Mamaroneck, Warren Newcorn of Scarsdale, Mitchell Ostrove of New Rochelle, the Honorable Martin Rogowsky from Harrison, Helene Schonbrun of White Plains, and Diane Werner of White Plains. 

Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino delivered the oath of office to the new board members.           

The Westchester Jewish Council is the central coordinating, convening advisory and resource body for the county's Jewish community, representing more than 140 Jewish organizations and serving 150,000 Jews. 

As Westchester's Jewish community relations organization, the Council unites Westchester Jewry with the State of Israel, fosters communication among Jewish organizations, other religious and ethnic groups, elected officials, and the community at large. 

The Council is a member of the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York and a beneficiary agency of UJA-Federation of New York.
