Last Chance: 325th Anniversary Committee Meeting

Volunteers are needed to help the Queen City celebration 325 years since its founding.

If you are interested in helping New Rochelle plan its 325th anniversary year-long celebration, which takes place in 2013, there will be a kickoff meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The meeting will be held in the City Hall Council Chambers, 515 North Ave.

Organized by former councilwoman Marianne Sussman, the effort is looking for community volunteers for every aspect of planning.

Sussman said the 325th anniversary is a celebration of the cneturies of growth and development since New Rochelle's founding by the Huguenots of La Rochelle, France.

She invites all members of the community to join in planning the events and activities that will mark this milestone.
