Hope Community Services Holding MLK Food Drive

Looking for a way to help celebrate the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service?

Hope Community Services in New Rochelle is holding an MLK Food Drive this week through Friday, January 17.

Donations can be dropped off at Hope Community Services, 50 Washington Ave., between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Hope opened its first soup kitchen in 1984 and has grow to become the largest emergency food panty and soup kitchen in the region, according to organizers.

Its clients include the newly unemployed, those who have lost their unemployment benefits and people whose work hours were cut.

Requested items for the food drive include peanut butter, canned tuna, hearty canned soups and meals in a can.
