Community Leaders in New Rochelle to Be Honored

Four New Rochelle community leaders will be honored June 6 at the annual New Rochelle Council of Community Services luncheon.

The Council Co-President Barbara Davis said the 2013 honorees are George T. Davis Funeral Home and its director Vincent Fasano, New Rochelle Police Department Detective Terrence Fudge, Reverend Robert Gahler of Trinity-St. Paul's Church and Dr. Kandy Mama of the Sound Shore Medical Center Emergency Room.

The Council will also award its annual $1,000 scholarship to New Rochelle High School junior Courtney Mills. Davis said she exemplifies the mission of the Council by dedicating her time and talents to help others.

The luncheon will be held at the Davenport Club at 400 Davenport Ave. It is open to the public, and tickets are $40 per person. To purchase tickets, email nrccs@yahoo.com or call 914-450-1503 before May 28.

The New Rochelle Council of Community Services was established in 1936 as a nonprofit umbrella organization for health and human services agencies, religious institutions and educational facilities in the city.
