Thank God That’s Over Pt II

Combine Continued

I forgot to mention another person who had a great combine Aaron Donald, the defensive tackle from Pitt. This kid wowed all of the scouts and coaches, his ridiculous 40 yard dash time at 4.68 seconds, repping 35 times on the bench and looking smooth in the shuttle run and defensive lineman drills. This young man has cemented his spot in the first round. This is actually a prospect I am excited about, someone the Packers really need. The second man on the list is Jadaveon Clowney, most people believe he had a great combine, I beg to differ. Clowney had a great time in the 40 yard dash, a great vertical leap and a decent amount of repetitions in the bench press. Unfortunately his shuttle run time was not impressive and after he ran the 40 yard dash, Clowney said he was not taking part in the defensive lineman drills because of a pulled quad muscle. After making this statement, Clowney took part in the Vertical Leap drill. So not only is he a liar, he is a prima donna. If Clowney really had a pulled quad, he would not have participated in the Vertical Leap and would not have done as well as he did. Secondly he wants to try and look better by producing on his Pro-Days in the comfort of his own place, doing his own drills. I believe this shows that Clowney is a downright entitled jerk, unfortunately it he may not come off that way in his interviews. Clowney looks to be one of those guys that could become a cancer in the locker room and I think the signs are there.

Jason Collins became the first openly gay player to start in a Top Four American sport. This weekend Collins is also changing his jersey number to 98, the year Matthew Sheppard was killed in a hate crime. While I am glad we have now crossed the sexual barrier in major professional sports, I think some people are over thinking why the Brooklyn Nets picked him up. At this point of the NBA season, many players are picked up with 10 day contracts and most of them start their contract coming off their couches. There are a lot of analysts speculating that Collins was picked up as a publicity stunt, I beg to differ. After looking at the available talent and the position the Nets are in, the publicity that comes with Collins is just a small incentive. Collins gives them a decent defensive player, that isn’t banged up and played for a team just last season. While Collins will not create the spark the Nets need, he will actually help them for the 10 days of the contract.

Since this is a continuation of the last blog, the trivia question is still the same so check out the last blog!!!!
