Drug Take-Back Oct. 26

Clean out your old prescription and over-the-counter medications and turn them in on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 am - 2 pm, at the Larchmont Village Hall.  Why? Because proper disposal saves lives and the environment. Here's how:

  • Prevents poisoning of children and pets.
  • Deters misuse by teens and adults.
  • Avoids health probelms from accidentally taking the wrong medicine, too much of the same medicine, or a medicine that is too old to work well.
  • Keeps medicines from entering streams, rivers or the Long Island Sound when poured down a drain or flushed down the toilet.

So, take an inventory of your medicine cabinet, and be sure to lock up the prescription and over-the-counter medications you need. Drop the rest for safe disposal on Saturday, October 26th at the Larchmont Village Hall lobby, 120 Larchmont Avenue. The collection takes place between 10 am and 2 pm.

Please try to keep medicines in original containers (if the original containers are not available, please place them in a resealable plastic bag). Containers with liquid medications should be secured in a resealable plastic bag.
