Activities you should know about for the week of Aug. 20, 2012.

1) Where/When: , 106 N. Broadway, White Plains, Monday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m.
Why go: The American Red Cross' White Plains Chapter hosts a free support group for veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan every Monday at 7p.m.
Pricing: Free.

2) Summer Networking—Sip & Socialize
Where/When: , 414 Pelham Rd., New Rochelle, Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 6 p.m.
Why go: Take the evening off to unwind and socialize with Westchester’s professionals for a night of business-to-business networking, scrumptious appetizers, drink specials, conversations and fun. There will be a mix and mingle, business card exchange, 50/50 Raffle, happy hour drink specials and complimentary appetizers. This is open to all professionals. Dress attire is professional.
Pricing: Free. 

3) Exhibit: A Gathered Place
Where/When: , 29 Castle Pl, New Rochelle, Wednesday Aug. 22 at 10 a.m.
Why go: The College of New Rochelle will feature “A Gathered Place,” an exhibition of recent work by two Westchester artists, Leslie Madigan and B. Avery Syrig, in the Mooney Center Gallery on the Main Campus in New Rochelle from August 22 through September 15, 2012. The artists’ reception is on Sunday, September 9 from 2 to 4 pm.

4) Emil Paolucci Summer Sounds Concert Series
Where/When: , 94 Hudson Pk. Rd., Wednesday, Aug. 22 at 7:30 p.m.
Why go: The next Emil Paolucci Summer Sounds Concert Series at Hudson Park presents Andrea & James Rohlehr & the Andjam Band, five engaging musicians performing original and popular favorites. The concert series, which features an eclectic menu of free music on eight consecutive Wednesdays in July and August, is presented by the New Rochelle Council on the Arts, in partnership with the New Rochelle Dept. of Parks and Recreation, and sponsored by Webster Bank.
Pricing: Free.

5) Royal Summer Sing
Where/When: 7 S. Highland Ave., Ossining, Thursday, Aug. 23 at 7:30 p.m.
Why go: The Royal Summer Sing commemorates Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee and is hosted by The Taghkanic Chorale. Sing for fun, featuring great anthems for royal occasions: G.F. Handel, Zadok the Priest and The King Shall Rejoice; C. Hubert H. Parry, I was Glad, and Benjamin Britten, Te Deum.
Pricing: $10.
