New Rochelle Library Gives Kids Chances to 'Dream Big'

The summer program encourages children to keep reading until school starts again.

The continues its summer reading theme of "Dream Big!" with movies and live performances.

At 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Robert the Guitar Guy will have everyone singing and moving and dreaming of becoming rock stars in a free 45-minute performance.

Other performances in the series include "One World Musical Adventure," which features exotic instruments from around the globe at 2 p.m. July 18, and the Lionheart Puppet Co. performing Little Red Hen at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 8. Both performances are free.

Also on Wednesday at 2 p.m.—the library kicks off a film series that will stir your child's imagination. The first film is the Pixar box office hit Monsters, Inc., starring John Goodman and Billy Crystal as scream-processing factory workers who are scared of little children. The film is appropriate for children 5 and older. The 93-minute film is rated G and is free.

In the weeks to come, children will be able to see such films as Muppets Take Manhattan—2 p.m. July 25—and Where the Wild Things Are—2 p.m. Aug. 8.
