Here's today's Sports Digest:

Thanks to the holidays, the majority of the local teams were out of action. But Iona Prep did travel to its rival Fordham Prep, as the Gales trounced their opponent 63-30. Mario Biaggi tossed three touchdowns on the way to the team's victory.

The Gales rebounded nicely after suffering their first loss of the season last week to Xaverian and now the team stands at 4-1.

Several local athletes also competed in the Manhattan Invitational, a cross country event held annually at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. Temi Bajulaiye finished with a time of just over 15 minutes for the boys, as the team competed in the Varsity D competition.

The teams will be off on Monday for Columbus Day but the Huguenots, Gales and all of the rest of the local teams will be back in action on Tuesday.
