Fitness expert Jaena Mebane is starting a JaeWalkers program with a free walk on Mother's Day from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., leaving from the tennis courts at New Rochelle High School on North Avenue in New Rochelle. The one-hour walk will include some exercises along the way and will continue at cost of $15 per walk on subsequent Sundays. Jaena will also be running a walk and wine program on Thursday evenings, leaving from the same location from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. After a one-hour exercise walk, participants who want to gather for wine at a local restaurant are free to do so. The one-hour exercise walks are on Sunday mornings and Thursday evenings cost $15 each, but the first walk on Mother's Day is free. Free prizes for the most consistent JaeWalkers.
Jaena has been a personal trainer for 16 years as well as a fitness instructor for over 15 years. She is an A.C.E. (American Council on Exercise) certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor and Pilates instructor. She has specialized certifications as a medical exercise specialist (MES) and pre- and post-natal. Jaena is also certified in Polestar Pilates (a physical therapy-based Pilates format). She is also the fitness consultant for Dannon Yogurt in White Plains, NY. Jaena teaches fitness classes at the Equinox Health Club in Mamaroneck, NY, New York Sports Club in Larchmont, NY, the GYM in Armonk and Bilancio in Purchase.
