4th Annual Fitness for Life Day

By:

Release: On Thursday, September 22, as part of it's Fourth Annual Fitness for Life! Day, The College of New Rochelle (CNR) will present a special evening lecture entitled “How To Get A Natural High” by Dr. Matt Bellace, a motivational speaker and stand-up comedian, who has a Ph.D. in clinical neuropsychology from Drexel University, and is the author of the book, “A Better High.”

Dr Bellace’s message is that it is not enough to ask them to stay away from drugs and alcohol, but “we need to show them there are positive things they can do for themselves
another others. They must all be leaders in their lives,” according to Dr. Bellace.

The lecture, an official “Exercise is Medicine on Campus” event, takes place at 7 p.m. in the Romita Auditorium on the Main Campus. “Exercise is Medicine on Campus” is a national initiative of the American College of Sports Medicine to promote physical activity and its
health benefits on college campuses across the country.

The lecture will be followed by a question and answer session, featuring a panel of CNR Nursing and Arts & Sciences students, and will conclude with a reception. The event is free and open to the public. For further information, please call Dr. Adrienne Wald, Director of
Wellness Education, at (914) 654-5380.

The lecture at The College of New Rochelle will be the culmination of the College’s 4d Annual Fitness for Life! Day event, a day that begins with a Run/Walk event on campus for students, faculty, and staff and is devoted to promoting healthy lifestyles for all members of the CNR Community.
