Details Emerge for New Rochelle's Rice Rally

Ray Rice is a running back with the Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens. Traffic near the rally may be detoured.

More details have been released about the Ray Rice Victory Rally at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in front of City Hall.

Rice, a New Rochelle native, is a running back with the Baltimore Ravens, which won the Super Bowl Feb. 3.

"It is an honor to be able to celebrate this huge accomplishment with my hometown," Rice said in a prepared statement. "I look forward to celebrating with all the kids in New Rochelle."

According to a release from City Hall, participating in the rally will be the Youth Tackle League, the New Rochelle High School state championship football team, the High School Cheerleading Team, which recently won a national championship, and the High School band.

Rice's sponsor—BodyArmor SuperDrink—will be providing samples.

The city said everyone is invited and is encouraged to brings signs and wear purple.

Traffic in the vicinity of North Avenue Saturday morning may be detoured in the area of Hamilton and Lincoln Avenues. Meter parking on North Avenue in front of City Hall will be prohibited Saturday morning.
