New Rochelle athletics celebrated a great day as Ursuline’s swimming and volleyball teams each won at home while New Rochelle got victories on the road in the same sports. The New Rochelle boy’s soccer team didn’t fair as well as they lost to White Plains for the second time this season.

Yesterday’s Results:

Sport: Girl’s Swimming

Game: Pelham @ Ursuline

Score:  Ursuline Won 90.5-71.5

Highlights: Ursuline beat the Pelicans easily at College of New Rochelle yesterday. Isabel Shipman dominated the 200 freestyle for the Koalas with a time of 1:57.54. Ursuline’s Madeline Simone and Kelly Amar also took first and second in the 200 individual medley. It was a rough day for Pelham but Elisabeth Schauer won the 100 freestyle and Sarah Dunbar took first in the 500 freestyle.

Sport: Volleyball

Game: Mount Vernon @ Ursuline

Score:  Ursuline Won 3-0

Highlights: The Koalas hosted Mount Vernon last night and quickly disposed of their opponent in straight sets 25-14, 25-13, and 25-10. Ursuline’s Megan McCarthy dished out five assists while Lauren Biolsi had 4 kills in the victory.

Sport: Boy’s Soccer

Game: New Rochelle @ White Plains

Score:  New Rochelle Lost 4-1

Highlights: White Plains beat New Rochelle for the second time this season. The Huguenots fell 4-1 and the team’s lone goal came from William Lopez. Jack Roth had 3 saves in the loss.

Sport: Volleyball

Game: New Rochelle @ Mamaroneck

Score:  New Rochelle Won 3-0

Highlights: New Rochelle survived the Tigers as they took on Mamaroneck in a tough three set match 25-17, 27-25 and 25-22. The Huguenots were led Carly Conca who dished out 10 assists and Ashleigh Scozzari who had 7 kills on the day. Alex Sternklar had 6 kills for the Tigers in the losing effort.

Sport: Girl’s Swimming

Game: New Rochelle @ Ardsley

Score:  New Rochelle Won 90-78

Highlights: Rachelle Kessler had a first place finish for Huguenots in the 200 Freestyle as New Rochelle went on to beat Ardsley. Maria Oceguira had a great day winning both the 500 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke.

In girl’s soccer, New Rochelle will host Scarsdale at 4:30 p.m.

In girl’s soccer, The Koalas will head to Mamaroneck to take on the Tigers.
