Daily Sports Digest: Volleyball, Soccer Win While Field Hockey Falls

Ursuline’s volleyball team had a quick match on the road beating their opponents in straight sets. New Rochelle soccer also hit the road as they narrowly won. The Koala volleyball team got blown out on the road in Mamaroneck. 

The Weekend’s Results:

Sport: Field Hockey

Game: Ursuline @ Mamaroneck

Score:  Ursuline Lost 9-1

Highlights: The Tigers devoured the Koalas thanks to 3 goals and 3 assists from Jessica Gardener. Both Jessica Corbin and Scarlett Fugazy had 2 goals and an assist for the Tigers. In the loss Ursuline’s lone goal was picked up by Evie Clapp. 

Sport: Volleyball

Game: Ursuline @ Hastings

Score:  Ursuline Won 3-0

Highlights: The Koalas made quick work of their opponent on the road as the won in straight sets 25-15, 25-8, 25-23. Megan McCarthy had 13 assists in the victory while Lauren Biolsi led the way with 11 kills.

Sport: Boy’s Soccer

Game: New Rochelle @ Ossining

Score: New Rochelle Won 3-2

Highlights: New Rochelle won on the road on the strength of three different Huguenots' scoring. Joelson Silva, Alan Lopez and Wesley Canhedo each scored as New Rochelle won 3-2 on the road.

In girl’s swimming, New Rochelle will host Sleepy Hollow at 4:30 p.m.

In volleyball, New Rochelle heads to White Plains to take on the Tigers at 4:15 p.m.

In field hockey, Ursuline will head to White Plains for a 4:15 p.m. show down.

In girl’s soccer, Ursuline will host White Plains at 4:30 p.m.

In girl’s swimming, Eastchester and Ursuline will square off at the College of New Rochelle at 4:30 p.m.

In volleyball, Mamaroneck will head to Ursuline to take on the Koalas at 4:15 p.m.
