Columbus Elementary Literacy Fair Showed Changes

Twenty classes, ranging from kindergarten to second grade, participated.

Students at Columbus Elementary School in New Rochelle showed how they can read and comprehend at the 10th annual Literacy Fair last week.

Opening night was held Wednesday, but the displays available to the public Thursday and Friday during school hours.

This year's theme, said program coordinator Georgine Fullerton, was "Change Over Time," focusing on physical and/or environmental changes.

The students used reading, writing, listening, and observing, among other skills to convey their message.

About 200 people attended the opening Wednesday.
