Teachers are Getting Lessons in Common Core Math

Teachers and principals from around Westchester County will be attending a presentation on the Common Core Curriculum in Port Chester tomorrow morning.

According to a bulletin from the Port Chester Schools, Port Chester’s JFK Elementary School will have the privilege of allowing 70 educators from  Westchester County to informally observe math module lessons under the new Common Core Curriculum for the K-5 grades tomorrow.

   Common Core, Inc.’s Project Manager Catriona Anderson will be doing a presentation and be able to provide some background and context about the Common Core math curriculum.

  The visiting teachers and principals will be able to sit in on some classrooms as the JFK teachers will be going over math instruction using math modules, which will be provided by the New York State Education Department.
