Report of Person with Mask Puts 3 New Rochelle Schools on Lockdown

Officials: No intruder found; lockdown lasts about an hour.

Three New Rochelle schools were on lockdown for about hour today after a student reported seeing a person wearing a mask in front of one of the schools.

City schools spokesman Paul Costiglio said no intruder was found at any of the schools and New Rochelle Police assisted school officials in an investigation.

A student at Jefferson Elementary alerted school staff at about noon that he saw someone wearing a mask at the school's front door, which was locked. School security officials alerted New Rochelle Police and a search of the area around the school and inside the school was performed.
