New Rochelle Schools Superintendent to Leave Oct. 4

Organisciak's exit date changed from end of the school year to early October.

Richard Organisciak, the New Rochelle School District superintendent, will leave his job Oct. 4, according to a statement posted on the district Web site.

Earlier in September, it was announced Organisciak would be leaving Oct. 25. The original exit date was at the end of the 2013-14 school year.

Board President David Lacher said the board would likely use a search firm to find Organisciak's replacement.

As the community is aware, when Mr. Organisciak initially announced his retirement as Superintendent of Schools, he contemplated the possibility that personal developments might necessitate an earlier effective retirement date.
