Update: New Rochelle Schools Delay Openings Friday

Snowfall overnight caused the delay in the opening of public schools and offices. Morning pre-kindergarten at Barnard School is cancelled.

8:05 a.m., March 8, 2013: The New Rochelle Public Library and the Huguenot Children's Library will open at 11 a.m. Friday.

------------

7:45 a.m., March 8, 2013: While the public schools are opening on a two-hour delay, Iona College announced it's classes and administrative office will open at 9 a.m. Monroe College said offices will open by 9:30 and all classes will begin one hour later than the usual scheduled time. Salesian High School is operating on a two-hour delay.

------------

From the New Rochelle School District:

DELAYED OPENING  AGAIN TODAY

Due to more inclement weather this morning, all schools and offices will once again be operating on a two hour delayed opening schedule for today, Friday, March 8th.  Schools and offices will open two hours later than their normally scheduled time.  In addition, once again, morning PreK at Barnard School is cancelled.

All students who ride on Mile Square and First Student buses should report to their bus stops two hours later than their regularly scheduled pick-up time.  Unfortunately, Bee Line buses will not be able to accommodate the delayed schedule in the morning.  BeeLine buses will be available for dismissal in the afternoon.

Be safe and thank you for your patience and understanding.

I think it's great that Pamela Davis stepped up to run and I would be glad to vote for her any otherRead More year. But this year we have one of New Rochelle's most dedicated and knowledgeable activists running. Bob Cox knows New Rochelle and the school district inside and out. I'm not sure the same can be said for Pam Davis. If you want someone who already knows where the wasteful spending is, and already knows the district's strengths and weaknesses, then Bob Cox is the person. Who cares how congenial he is? Where some people see anger and finger-pointing, others see tenacity and accountability.
