Monroe College Helps Students Find Work [VIDEO]

The college held a job fair with over 30 employers who had been pre-screened for employment possibilities.

About 400 Monroe College students and alumni participated in the Monroe College Part-time Job Fair Wednesday at the Radisson Hotel New Rochelle. The college pre-qualified over 30 employers to make certain they actually had jobs to offer.

Carol Genese, from the school's office of career advancement explained that Wednesday's job fair was one of two in the month of October, the next one being a career job fair.

Genese said there were a couple of reasons to invite alums to the job fair, one of which is the economy that isn't improving fast enough. She said, additionally, it was Monroe's policy to support the students in career choices even after they graduate.

Mount Vernon resident Sherlon Bacchus, 19 and a freshman, said he was confident he would find a job at the fair, hopefully in sync with being a business administration major. But if not, any job would suffice.
