Update: New Rochelle Middle School Site of Television Pilot Filming

The as-yet untitled project is a pilot for ABC by the director of "The Day After Tomorrow" and "Independence Day."

Activity on the grounds of Isaac E. Young Middle School Friday was centered on a television pilot for ABC.

New Rochelle School District spokesman Paul Costiglio said the school is being used for a location film shoot Monday for an "untitled Roland Emmerich project."

He said the production company was looking for a setting for a rugby match scene taking place in England.

"And they are doing some brief filming in the locker room after the students are gone for the day," Costiglio said.

He said the production company is on site Friday preparing the grounds for the shoot.

The district will be receiving a location fee, Costiglio said, but the agreement has not yet been signed, so he could not say how much it would be.

According to the Internet Movie Database, the project is being directed by Emmerich, who directed The Day After Tomorrow and Independence Day, and co-written by Emmerich and Harald Kloser. It stars Gabriella Wilde, Martin Landau and Max Thieriot.

Construction crews were seen Friday building a track for dolly shots and placing cherry pickers for filming off the ground.

Parking on portions of Pelham Road and Centre Avenue will be prohibited Monday during the filming.
