New Rochelle High School Receives Threatening Calls, Students Dismissed

All activities for Wednesday were cancelled.

Threatening calls to New Rochelle High School led school official evacuate the building and cancel all activities Wednesday.


According to a note on the district's Web site from Interim Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jeffrey Korostoff, two phone calls were received by the principal's office and the assistant principal's office threatening the safety of the students and adults in the building.

Everyone was evacuated and it was decided to end the school day. Students who receive special transportation were relocated to Iona College where buses were going to return them home

New Rochelle Police Department began inspecting the high school section by section, but determined that it couldn't estimate how long the entire process would take.

School officials decided to cancel Wednesday's night school program, adult education program and all extra-curricular activities at the high school, including athletic events.
