New Ro High School Students Perform in County Festival
NRHS student jazz musicians are among the best in the county.
The New Rochelle High School Jazz Band traveled to Mamaroneck High School to play in the 2011 All-County Jazz Festival Friday.
Under the direction of Robert Freeberg, the band joined their counterparts from Hastings and Mamaroneck high schools to the delight of the audience whose paid admission went to benefit the Westchester County School Music Association.
Several members of the NRHS band then joined musicians from more than a dozen schools to play in the 2011 All-County Jazz Ensembles, performing under the direction of guest conductors Lauren Sevian and Dr. JC Sanford.
