Korostoff Appointed Acting Superintendent for New Rochelle Schools

Superintent Organisciak retired Friday.

During an early morning meeting Friday, the New Rochelle School District Board of Education appointed Assistant Superintendent Jeffrey Korostoff as acting superintendent.

Korostoff replaces Richard Organisciak who retired effective Friday, Oct. 4.

From the City of New Rochelle School District:

The New Rochelle Board of Education has appointed Dr. Jeffrey Korostoff to serve as Acting Superintendent of Schools effective October 5, 2013. Dr. Korostoff has worked for the City School District of New Rochelle since September, 1998, most recently as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, overseeing the K-12 academic program. Dr. Korostoff will continue to oversee the K-12 academic program in the immediate term.

Richard E. Organisciak, who has served as the district’s Superintendent of Schools for the last seven years, announced his retirement earlier this year, effective October 4, 2013. A nationwide search for a permanent Superintendent is underway.
