An Evening With NASA Astronaut Ron Garan

Westchester Amateur Astronomers and the Iona College Physics Department are delighted to welcome NASA astronaut and Hudson Valley native son Ron Garan home to New York for a presentation and discussion about his journey of 65,340,224 miles in 2,624 orbits around the Earth during the 164 days he was in space as a crewmember onboard the International Space Station.

The talk will be on Wednesday March 14 at Iona College's Murphy Auditorium, located across North Avenue from the Main Entrance to Iona.  Doors will open at 7PM.

From North Avenue, turn onto Mayflower Avenue (Between Dunkin Donut and Canonne's Pizza). There are two parking lots on the right. The first lot is immediately after Loftus Hall (a ten story dormitory); the second lot is a bit farther up the road. There is an entrance to the Murphy Center in the first lot; a lobby at the entrance goes into the auditorium. The other entrance can be reached by crossing North Avenue from the Main Gate, and go up the street a short distance.

The event is free and open to the public, but because of the high interest in Colonel Garan’s presentation and limited seating, you must register for this event.

We are honored to host this son of the Hudson Valley as he continues to use the perspective of living and working in space to improve life on Earth.
