Daily Sports Digest: New Rochelle Sets Sights On County Center

Your interactive, daily digest for all New Rochelle scores, schedules and standings — and a place for you to add information and images for all of your favorite sports and teams.

The first string of Slam Dunk Tournaments wrapped up Tuesday at the Westchester County Center as 64-60 to take home the boys basketball championship and White Plains outlasted Poughkeepsie 47-43 in the consolation game.

On the girls side of things, 51-39 in the tournament championship while Brewster edged out Kennedy 38-28 in the tournaments consolation game.

Two new tournaments will begin Wednesday at noon as five more games are scheduled to tip off every two hours. Check out the complete bracket for scheduling and results, and remember that the charges are $5 a ticket per day and $5 to park.

volleyball coach John Killingbeck announced yesterday that his winter skills clinic will be held on Jan. 8. The clinic is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and it is open to students from grades 6 through 12. The cost is $50 for preregistration and $60 for walk ups. More information and registration materials can be found and downloaded here.

In boys basketball, Kingston and New Rochelle will face off at 8 p.m. at the Westchester County Center in the first round of the Slam Dunk Tournament.

In girls basketball, New Rochelle heads to Ursuline at 4:15 p.m.
