Daily Sports Digest: New Rochelle Basketball Dominates the Weekend

The woman’s lacrosse team named three seniors as tri-captains on Friday. Amber Zimmerlink, Kelsey Sickles and Casey Scully will be looked at to lead the team this season.

The Iona College men’s basketball team picked up a close win thanks to hard-nosed defense down the stretch as the Gaels beat Vermont 73-72.

Highlights: In the championship of the Rye Tournament, Aaliyah Hayes led the Huguenots with 13 points. Mary Miceli added 12 and Amirror Dixon tacked on 11. Morgan Beechum led Peekskill with 13.

Score: New Rochelle Won 70-61

Highlights: Joe Clarke led the way for the Huguenots with 26 points and Kirkland Ottey added 21.

Score: Harrison Won 57-43

Highlights: Cory Calcogni picked up 26 points for the Huskies in the win, Coby Leftkowitz added 16. Matt Cardin led Iona Prep with 17 in the loss.
