Daily Sports Digest: Iona’s Armand Sets Record in Win

Your interactive, daily digest for all New Rochelle scores, schedules and standings — and a place for you to add information and images for all of your favorite sports and teams.

After a loss to Hofstra University last week, the Gaels rebounded nicely as the team beat Siena 95-59 at Madison Square Garden. Sophomore Sean Armand led the team with 32 points off of the bench, and he hit a school and MAAC record 10 shots from beyond the arc.

“It feels good. I kept going and it starts in practice, it went from this morning to the game. I did extra shooting before shoot around. It felt good to do it (break the record) at Madison Square Garden; I was happy about it because my friends and family were here. There is no better place,” said Armand on breaking the record.

Jermel Jenkins added 16 as the Gaels has four players in double figures.
