Yonkers DMV Offers More Accommodating Schedule

Senator Stewart-Cousins announces extended hours at Yonkers DMV. Yonkers DMV is part of pilot program to make DMV more convenient.

The Yonkers branch of the Department of Motor Vehicles has extended its business hours on Monday through Thursday in hopes of better accommodating customers. The extended hours, part of a statewide pilot program approved by the Legislature this year, are intended to make the DMV more accessible and user friendly. The extended hours were announced on Wednesday in a release from Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins (D, District 35) whose district includes Yonkers.

The year-long pilot will determine the hours that are most convenient for customers and the DMV. Results will be evaluated to determine if the expanded hours should continue beyond the test period and if additional offices should offer extended hours of operation.

The Yonkers DMV Office, located at 1 Larkin Plaza, now offers services during these extended hours:

  • Monday-Thursday from 7:30 A.M. to 7:30 P.M.
  • Friday from 8:30 A.M. to 4 P.M. as previously scheduled

“Those with stringent work schedules often found it difficult to take time off the job to come to the DMV," said Senator Stewart-Cousins in a release. "This pilot program will help the State determine which hours are best suited for the community.”
