New Rochellean Could Be Tapped for Cabinet Post

Kenneth Chenault, according to sources, is being considered for Treasury secretary.

Citing White Officials, Bloomberg.com said that New Rochelle resident Kenneth Chenault is being considered for a position in the next term of President Barack Obama.

Chenault, who is the CEO of American Express Co., is supposedly being considered for Treasury secretary, according to sources.

He would be replacing Timothy Geithner, who has said he plans to make an exit at the start of the second term.

Bloomberg also said Chenault might not be the final choice. White House Chief of Staff Jack Lew is considered by those in the know to be the leading contender.

According to FoxNews.com, Chenault, 61, is also being considered for commerce secretary and other possible positions. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School.
