Meeting to Solicit Input for New Rochelle Downtown Circulation

The workshop will brainstorm improvements to traffic and gateways.

From the City of New Rochelle:

Improving travel circulation throughout downtown New Rochelle is the subject of a workshop to be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday October 22 at the New Rochelle Public Library, 1 Library Plz., New Rochelle.

The evening workshop, hosted by the City of New Rochelle and the consulting team Nelson Nygaard, will begin with optional small group walking tours in the local downtown area, from Cedar to Centre Avenue including the Train Station. Participants will then regroup at the library to mark their observations and discuss issues of choice, including pedestrian, transit, bicycle, driving, parking and wayfinding.

“Downtown New Rochelle has much to offer, but can be challenging to navigate,” said Development Commissioner Luiz Aragon. “Through public participation in this Open Studio, we hope to identify ways to improve all parts of the Downtown circulation system, for pedestrians, motorists, transit commuters, cyclists, visitors and shoppers.”
