Generator Grant Funds OK'd for New Rochelle City Hall

The matching grant comes from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The New Rochelle City Council approved a resolution Tuesday to accept a grant for an emergency generator for City Hall.

The city got the grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency through the Hazard Mitigation Assistance Legislated Pre-Disaster Mitigation Grant Program.

The project is estimated at $250,000 which was earmarked in the City Hall HVAC Improvements estimate in September. The grant will provide 75 percent of project's costs up to $125,000.

Need to pull out the credit card again. Oops I mean issue another bond. With all this debt to place, the Wall Street bond underwriters must love New Rochelle, but why is it New Rochelle is so broke that it has to borrow money for everything? Property taxes sure are high enough.
