Cuomo Hauls in Big $$$, Astorino Continues to Trail

Gov. Andrew Cuomo's re-election campaign raked in about $47,000 a day during the first six months of the year, writes The Buffalo News.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo raised about $8.4 million in the last six months for his re-election campaign, far outpacing challenger Rob Astorino, according to the New York Post

In filings with the state election bureau, the Democratic incumbent reported his campaign had $35 million in the bank, compared to Astorino's $2.4 million. Astorino, the Republican Westchester County Executive, raised about $2.7 million over the same period, the Post wrote. The Buffalo News reported that Astorino raised about $3.5 million during the six-month period.

The disparity in revenue between the two is no surprise. Prior to the official filings Tuesday, Astorino was trailing Cuomo by a similar amount.

Cuomo essentially raked in about $47,000 a day over the six-month period, writes The Buffalo News' Tom Precious, and 63 of Cuomo's contributors gave $25,000 or more. By contrast, 13 of Astorino's contributors gave that much money.
