Woman Charged with Attacking New Rochelle Cop

Police arrested a 59-year-old homeless woman after she made a disturbance at the McDonald's located on Main Street in New Rochelle.

A disgruntled customer faces a felony assault charge after she scratched a New Rochelle police officer who tried to remove her from the restaurant Tuesday.

Joann Oddo, a homeless 59-year-old woman in New Rochelle, was arrested just before 9 p.m. at the McDonald’s located on 270 Main St. in New Rochelle and charged with second-degree assault, a felony.

Restaurant employees requested that Oddo leave after she allegedly became disruptive. Two New Rochelle police officers came to the scene and attempted remove her from the premises.

Oddo allegedly threw a tray of food at one of the officers and scratched his left forearm, causing him to bleed. Police eventually restrained the woman and took her into custody.

Oddo was charged with a felony because the assault was directed at a police officer. She was arraigned and released to appear in New Rochelle city court at a later date.
