UPDATE: Identity Released of Man Hit by Metro-North Train in New Rochelle

The man was pronounced dead just before 10 p.m. on Monday.

A man who apparently jumped in front of a Metro-North train Monday night in New Rochelle died a little over an hour later at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital, writes The Journal News.

The man has been identified as 40-year-old Fernando Aguilar of New Rochelle.

News 12 Westchester initially wrote that Aguilar was in serious condition following the apparent suicide. The incident, which occurred at about 8:40 p.m. at 24 Station Plaza North, caused brief rail delays along the New Haven Line.

Aguilar was struck by the 8:04 p.m. train out of Stamford that was scheduled to arrive at Grand Central Terminal at 9:10 p.m.
