Police Blotter: Robbery on North Avenue

New Rochelle Police ran after a suspect wanted in connection with a robbery.

Robbery: Around 8:51 p.m. Tuesday, a 20-year-old New Rochelle man on North Avenue was punched in the face and knocked to the ground by two black males. They went through his pockets and stole his wallet and $100 cellphone and ran off. Witnesses saw one of the suspects running on Lincoln Avenue. Police chased him but were unable to catch him, but they located the victim’s wallet behind 400 Lincoln Ave. Police did not know what was taken from the wallet.

Burglary: On Monday, an envelope with $900 went missing from multi-family residence on Chatsworth Place. New Rochelle Police found pry marks on the front door.

Burglary: A large refrigerator was stolen Tuesday from a Davenport Avenue residence under renovations. Police say there were no signs of forced entry.

Larceny from Motor Vehicle: Sometime between 5 p.m. on April 9 and 9:51 p.m. on April 10, the passenger side window to a 2007 Chevy Malibu was shattered and $50 was taken.

I think it's great that Pamela Davis stepped up to run and I would be glad to vote for her any otherRead More year. But this year we have one of New Rochelle's most dedicated and knowledgeable activists running. Bob Cox knows New Rochelle and the school district inside and out. I'm not sure the same can be said for Pam Davis. If you want someone who already knows where the wasteful spending is, and already knows the district's strengths and weaknesses, then Bob Cox is the person. Who cares how congenial he is? Where some people see anger and finger-pointing, others see tenacity and accountability.
