Officer Hit by Car at New Ro Intersection

No injures; officer was directing traffic in a school zone.

A community service officer in New Rochelle was struck by a car while directing traffic Wednesday morning.

New Rochelle Police said the officer received no injuries, and refused medical attention. He was not pinned by the vehicle.

The accident occurred at about 9 a.m. by the Pelham Road and Church Street intersection. Police described the intersection as a "heavy traffic area"; the officer was directing students who were walking to Trinity Elementary School at 180 Pelham Road.

Police did not charge the driver.
