New Rochelle Woman Charged in Thefts Adding Up to $900

Police: Employee of Port Chester store accused of taking cash from register.

A New Rochelle woman working at a department store in Port Chester has been charged with petty larceny in connection with thefts adding up to $900, according to Port Chester Police.

Kiara Alexis, 19, of 124 Winthrop Ave., New Rochelle, was arrested Tuesday at the Kohl's store, 431 Boston Post Road, after store management accused her of taking money from a cash register, police said.

Alexis is accused taking $400 on Tuesday, $200 on Dec. 26, 2012, $100 on Jan. 8 and $200 on Jan. 27. Police said $400 was recovered.

Alexis faces a hearing in Port Chester Village Court.
