New Rochelle Schools Employee Arrested for Soliciting a 'Minor'

The district attorney said Patrick Clark attempted to solicit an undercover investigator who had assumed the role of a 15-year-old.

A New Rochelle School District employee has been charged with soliciting a 15-year-old girl.

Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced Thursday that Patrick Clark, 42, of Highland Avenue in New Rochelle, was arraigned on one count of first-degree attempted disseminating indecent material to minors, a class "E" felony.

Acting in an undercover capacity, an investigator from the Westchester County District Attorney's office, between April 5 and May 8, assumed the "role" of a 15-year-old female. The undercover investigator engaged in a series of chats allegedly with Clark via an Internet chat room.

The district attorney's office said the undercover agent made it clear to Clark "she" was 15 years old. Clark allegedly discussed specific sexual acts in which he would like to engage with the "15-year-old."

Clark is an electrician for the New Rochelle School District.

He was arraigned in White Plains City Court. His bail was set at $2,500 cash or bond. Clark is due back in court May 31.

If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of four years in state prison.
