New Rochelle Man Charged in Drug Bust

An undercover drug buy made on North Main Street in Port Chester; police raid Eldridge Street building.

Five people have been charged as a result of drug investigations in Port Chester, including one New Rochelle man.

Port Chester Village police said an undercover drug buy on North Main Street led to the arrest of a Connecticut man, and a month-long probe done in conjunction with Westchester County Police led to four arrests in a raid on Eldridge Street.

Friday, Richard A. Delsoldato, 24, of 259 Seaside Ave., Stamford, CT, was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance after a drug sale to an undercover police officer in front of JT Straws Bar & Grill, 435 N. Main St. at about 12:30 a.m.

Delsoldato was being held for arraignment in Port Chester Village Court.

On Thursday night, Port Chester police and Westchester County Police executed a search warrant at 27 Eldridge St. after a month-long drug investigation.  

Four people were arrested and were being held for arraignment in Village Court:

  • , 55, of 27 Eldridge St.
  • Toni Denise Green, 50, of 27 Eldridge St. 
  • Richard Thomas, 48, of 395 Webster Ave., New Rochelle
  • Jason Torres, 39, who told police he homeless, whose last known address was in the Bronx. 

All four are charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, with intent to sell, a felony.

I think it's great that Pamela Davis stepped up to run and I would be glad to vote for her any otherRead More year. But this year we have one of New Rochelle's most dedicated and knowledgeable activists running. Bob Cox knows New Rochelle and the school district inside and out. I'm not sure the same can be said for Pam Davis. If you want someone who already knows where the wasteful spending is, and already knows the district's strengths and weaknesses, then Bob Cox is the person. Who cares how congenial he is? Where some people see anger and finger-pointing, others see tenacity and accountability.
