Man Crawls Away Unharmed After Train Drives Over Him

Witnesses told MTA Police the man crawled out from under the third train car.

A 31-year-old Port Chester man described as "incoherent" was unharmed after a Metro-North train drove over him at the Mamaroneck station Saturday, according to MTA spokesperson Sal Arena.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m. when witnesses told MTA Police that they saw the man walk from the station platform to the train track bed. The man proceeded to lie down between the rails of track three, which put him in the path of the Stamford-bound 7:10 p.m. train.

Three train cars passed over the man before the train came to a stop. The man then crawled out from under the train uninjured, Arena told Patch.

MTA Police reported that the man was incoherent and he was taken to Sound Shore Medical Center in New Rochelle and admitted for psychiatric examination.

The train was taken out of service and customers were transferred to the 7:34 p.m. Stamford train.
