Man Hit Teen With Car in New Rochelle

Marcos Garcia was arrested for allegedly fleeing the scene after hitting a pedestrian with his car in New Rochelle Saturday night.

A Bronx man who tried to flee the scene after hitting a New Rochelle teenager with his car Saturday night is scheduled to appear in New Rochelle City Court next month.

Marcos Garcia was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident which caused serious injury, a felony, after he hit 13-year-old boy with his car near the intersection of Center Avenue and Huguenot Street.

The accident took place at about 8:15 p.m., according to New Rochelle police. Garcia allegedly hit the teen and kept driving before Pelham Manor police eventually stopped him on Boston Post Road.

Police said the teen suffered a broken leg as a result of the accident. Garcia was arrested and released on bail.

He appeared in city court Monday morning and is scheduled to reappear in court at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 6.

I think it's great that Pamela Davis stepped up to run and I would be glad to vote for her any otherRead More year. But this year we have one of New Rochelle's most dedicated and knowledgeable activists running. Bob Cox knows New Rochelle and the school district inside and out. I'm not sure the same can be said for Pam Davis. If you want someone who already knows where the wasteful spending is, and already knows the district's strengths and weaknesses, then Bob Cox is the person. Who cares how congenial he is? Where some people see anger and finger-pointing, others see tenacity and accountability.
